Sustainability doesn’t stop once your candle arrives. From burning it properly to giving your jar a second life, here are a few easy ways to make the most of your TAJA creation:

Give your jar a second life

Refill
If you're in Miami (or nearby!), bring your empty candle to our HQ for a refill. You can purchase your refill ahead of time or at drop-off. Prefer shipping? We can send it back to you once it’s refilled — just let us know.

Repurpose
Not in the Miami area? Repurpose your jar at home! We love seeing our beautiful jars repurposed throughout the house—for flowers, pens, makeup brushes, cleaning supplies, and even cooking tools. Declutter your space and organize it with the most special vases!

Four Easy Steps to Repurpose Your Jar:

    1. Once your candle has burned through, place the jar in the freezer overnight.
    2. In the morning, once the wax has hardened, use a spoon to remove any remaining wax and wicks.
    3. Wash your jar with dish soap to remove any residual waxiness.
    4. Once dry, fill it with whatever you like! Have fun with this step—it’s a great me-time activity or something to enjoy with a friend or child.

Extend the life of your candle

A well-cared-for candle burns cleaner, longer, and with less waste.

Let the wax fully melt:
Every time you light your candle, allow the top layer of wax to melt completely before blowing it out. For our Super size candles, this usually takes about 4 hours. This prevents tunneling and helps you enjoy every last drop.

Balance short + long burns:
Can’t burn your candle for long one day? Totally fine — just make sure the next time you light it, you give it a longer burn so the wax stays even, especially in square jars.

Trim your wicks:
After the first burn, trim the wicks before each use. Use a wick trimmer to remove the little “mushroom” tip — trimming just the top helps your flame stay clean, steady, and soot-free.
