A note from our founder

“The best gift is seeing others happy.”

Before TAJA, I practiced law at a firm in Miami, after NYU and law school at the University of Miami. Even then, my office said a lot about me: gold staplers, good candles, every detail chosen on purpose.

I've always been the friend who obsesses over gifts. The best ones were never the most expensive. They were the ones that showed someone was paying attention: a name, a date, a line only the two of you understand.

In June 2017, I started TAJA to make that kind of gift. Every candle is engraved to order and poured by hand at our studio in Miami, in soy wax or organic beeswax, with nothing from our NO list. When it's finished, the jar is yours to keep, or bring it back and we'll refill it.

Our story so far 2017–2026

  1. 2017

    TAJA launches in June with an Instagram page, a self-built website and candles poured in a home kitchen. Corporate gifting starts almost right away, with the Miami Heat as our first client.

  2. 2018

    Our production studio and shop open in Wynwood, and the team grows to six.

  3. 2019

    Annabelle is featured in Authority Magazine’s “Women of the C-Suite” and welcomes her first baby.

  4. 2020

    We make it through the pandemic by selling a large canceled retail order through wholesale and online instead.

  5. 2021

    The Jumbo size arrives, and Forbes features TAJA in its holiday home fragrance guide.

  6. 2022

    Five years in business, with features in The Skinny Confidential and on the Entreprenista podcast. Annabelle welcomes her second baby.

  7. 2023

    A major milestone: $1M in sales.

  8. 2024

    Annabelle appears on Good Morning America in May.

  9. 2025

    Glass coasters join the line, with West Coast pop-ups and a feature in the New York Post.

  10. 2026

    TAJA Home launches with linens and towels.

    Soy wax or organic beeswax, cotton wicks, phthalate-free fragrance oils and pure essential oils. Hand-poured in small batches in Miami.

    Give your jar a second life with our repurposing guide, or bring it to the studio and we'll refill it for a fraction of the price.
